Ancient Formula Natural Milk Bath Recipe

It is said that Cleopatra used a formula similar to this natural milk bath recipe one to soften her skin. Each ingredient is known for its soothing and smoothing qualities.

Ingredients:

1-cup (237 ml) powdered milk
2-tbsp (30 ml) almond meal
2-tbsp (30 ml) barley or oat flour
A few drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. This mixture can be sprinkled directly into the bath, using 2 tablespoons (30 ml) per bath. An interesting variation is to substitute rolled barley or oat flakes for the flour, then fill empty tea bags with the mixture (remember to seal the tops). Soak in your aromatic milk bath for approximately 20 minutes. When you’re finished, wrap yourself in a warm towel and enjoy the cleanliness and softness this bath imparts to your skin.

Store at room temperature in pretty tins with lids or in old milk bottles.

Shelf life is 2 to 3 months.

Lavender-Honey Milk Bath Recipe

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp. dried lavender flowers*
1-1/2 cups whole milk, cream or combination
1/3 cup honey

Instructions:

Process lavender flowers in a blender until they become a powder, turning off the blender and scraping down the sides as necessary. Whisk together lavender powder, milk and honey in a glass bowl, then pour into a jar. Before each use, shake the jar and pour half of the mixture into the bath. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Makes enough for 2 baths.

Soothing Chamomile Milk Bath Recipe

This natural milk bath recipe is a skin-softening treat for dry, winter skin.

Ingredients:

4 cups powdered milk
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup dried chamomile or 5 chamomile tea bags

Instructions:

Steep chamomile in water for 20 minutes Strain liquid. Mix liquid with powdered milk and add to running bath water.

Ingredients:

2 cups dry milk powder
1 cup cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon lavender fragrance oil

Instructions:

Ingredients:

3 eggs
1/2 cup Yogurt
1/4 cup + 1 ts witch hazel
1/4 cup almond or olive oil
1 3/4 cup whole milk or cream
1 cup Peach or apricot juice

Instructions:

Add all ingredients (except the 3/4 cup milk or cream) and blend on low speed until well combined. Add the 3/4 cup milk or cream and stir in gently.
Keep in your refrigerator. Shake before use and add about 1/2 cup to your warm bath for a lovely treat.

Makes enough for 6 baths. Use within 2 weeks of preparing.

Peppermint Milk Bath Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Powdered Milk
1 Tablespoon dried peppermint leaves

Instructions:

Pulverize the mint with spice or coffee grinder (or the old-fashioned way with mortar and pestle). Mix mint and milk together and seal in a jar. Keep in a cool dry place.

Aphrodite’s Sacred Milk & Flower Bath Recipe

Ingredients:

2 drops jasmine absolute
6 drops ylang ylang essential oil
10 drops orange essential oil
1 quart milk
4 drops neroli essential oil
4 drops sandalwood essential oil

Instructions:

While bath is filling, heat the milk in a saucepan, taking care not to boil it, then mix the essential oils into the warm milk.

Usage:

Pour the milk and oil mixture into the bath just before entering and relax for at least 20 minutes, adding hot water as needed to keep the temperature comfortable.

Use this mixed natural milk bath recipe immediately after making it, for soft and silky skin.

Ingredients:

1 egg
1/2 cup light olive oil
1 tablespoon glycerin
1/2 cup dried milk powder
1 drop jasmine essential oil
1 drop rose essential oil
6 drops lavender essential oil
2 cups distilled water

Instructions:

Beat together egg, olive oil, glycerin and milk powder with a whisk or hand held beater. While beating add essential oils. Continue beating until a smooth paste forms. Add the water a little at a time, continuing to beat. Immediately add to your warm drawn bath (be careful…if the water is too hot you’ll make scrambled eggs).

Rose Petal Natural Milk Bath Recipe

Ingredients:

16 oz Milk Powder (can be goat milk, whole milk, or buttermilk)
.5 to 1 oz Rose Petals
.5 to 1 oz Rose Fragrance Oil

Instructions:

Rose petals and rose fragrance can be substituted with Lavender flowers/Lavender fragrance, Jasmine Tea leaves/Green Tea fragrance, Chamomile flowers/Chamomile fragrance, or come up with your own combination.
